Daan Thomassen is an Amsterdam based photographer / videographer raised on an island in a typically Dutch polder landscape. The world of fashion and photography came naturally to him due to his parents. His mother, Linda Spierings, successful model during the 80’s & 90’s, and his father Pim Thomassen a photographer’s agent, shaped his artistic views on fashion, film and photography. Now, graduated and certified as an Interactive Media professional he calls himself a Storyteller, using his background, study and experience as a means to visualize stories. As a working student he developed a passion for videography,
when he operated as a director and editor. Over the past years he worked as a photography assistant to several photographers, both national and international. During his experience as an assistant he discovered a demand for behind the scenes / impression films. In this niche he found his passion and talent. He has been directing and editing ever since. Since 2014 Daan had the pleasure to work for the following clients: Alaïa, Orange Babies, VOGUE, Fred de la Bretoniere, Belcompany, JAN, Shoeby, Keune, Hush, Glamour, BeyenMeyer, CakeWalk, Cora Kemperman, Knit-ted, Man Of All Nations.
